Announcing guMCP

Excited to share that we're building the largest open source aggregation of MCP servers on earth and hosting them all free of charge. guMCP is short for 'Gumloop's Unified Model Context Protocol' and will be a single service that routes requests to our hosted MCP servers.
Our team will be independently contributing new servers (aka apps that your AI will be able to interact with) to the project while also maintaining the project publicly and managing open source contributions. You can self host any server or use our managed servers completely for free within your AI apps.
You can start using guMCP today here.
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol, MCP for short, is a standardized way for AI to interact with 3rd party apps. If you're familiar with an API, it's similar but even simpler and more straightforward than API specifications so AI apps like Claude and ChatGPT can fetch and write data from the tools you use everyday. Hosted MCP servers make it really easy to add 3rd party integrations to your AI apps or chatbots on the fly.
We wrote a much more comprehensive blog post about MCP here for you to check out.
How does it work?
"I just want to use MCP"
If you're looking to use the MCP clients— as in you want to do cool things like send emails and post to Slack from within Cursor, Claude (local only), Chat GPT (coming soon) or any other AI client—you'll simply have to authenticate with Gumloop and authorize those apps. Here's an example of how to integrate with Cursor:
Step 1: Create a free gumloop account and link the credentials you need at gumloop.com/credentials
Step 2: Vist gumloop.com/mcp
Step 3: Select the app you want to integrate with in the directory
Step 4: Follow the steps to integrate your AI client with the tool
Each connection has a step by step walkthrough see Slack for instance.
Here's a quick walkthrough:
"I want to contribute to guMCP"
We will be regularly contributing to the repository to increase the number of tools everyone can use with AI. We've already creating MCP servers for all of the tools that integrate natively with Gumloop.
We'd love the help of the community to go even faster. You can start contributing by going to the repo here.
"I just want to keep using Gumloop"
MCP is about to make Gumloop 100x better. Native MCP support within your workflows will be rolling out in the coming weeks. We have a plan here and it'll be the most magical workflow software you've ever seen. Trust us.
Why open source?
We're going back to our roots a bit here. The first version of Gumloop was open source. I had always thought "the community is going to be more creative than we could ever be, let them contribute". We learned quickly that the overlap between open source contributors and low-code tools like Gumloop was effectively 0.
With MCP however, developers are already building their own servers but creating super fragmented projects across GitHub. Creating a centralized repo of servers that we're contributing to on a daily basis feels like the direction that's both the most logical and by far the most fun.
What's the catch?
No catch :). You can clone the repo and host it yourself completely for free if you'd like. We're going to keep contributing new servers and improving existing ones on a daily basis.
You can use our hosted service as well completely for free. Creating a free Gumloop account will let you authenticate with 3rd party apps (like Slack, Linear, Google sheets etc.) with a single click, no dev setup necessary.
Why build this?
We've built countless integrations ourselves on Gumloop but the new era of integrations is emerging with MCP. We would be building and maintaining these servers anyways for Gumloop so why not share them with the community.
We're in the fortunate position where we don't need to monetize guMCP. Use it, have fun and contribute to the mission if you want.
Is it secure?
Gumloop is SOC2 type 2, GDPR and HIPAA compliant. The same system that securely stores your credentials on Gumloop's AI workflow automation platform is being used to manage credentials you'll use via guMCP's hosted service.
